日本旅遊費用(印度出發):2026年家庭真實花費明細
Search "Japan trip cost from India" and you get blog estimates assembled from other blogs. This page is different: the numbers below are real packages our network operated for Indian guests in 2026, from the operator's side of the quote.
Real package prices (2026, as operated)
| Trip | Group | Ground package from | ≈ per person |
|---|---|---|---|
| 8 days: Tokyo · Fuji/Hakone · Osaka | 2 travelers | ¥449,000 | ¥225,000 |
| 13 nights: Hakone · Kyoto · Tokyo | family of 3 | ¥563,000 | ¥188,000 |
| 14 days: Okinawa + golden route | family of 4 | ¥779,000 | ¥195,000 |
| 13 days: fully vegetarian tour | group of 6 | ¥1,390,000 | ¥232,000 |
Every package: private vehicle + driver on touring days, hotels, airport transfers, tolls and veg meal planning included. Flights and visa excluded — you book those from India (often cheaper than any agency bundle); we run everything after you land.
The pattern in the per-person column
Notice what happens as the family grows: the per-person cost barely moves between a couple and a family of four, because the two biggest fixed costs — vehicle and driver — are already in the price. This is the structural reason private touring suits Indian family travel: a couple pays a premium for privacy, but a multi-generation family of 4-6 gets private touring at nearly group-tour per-person rates.
What moves the price up or down
- Hotel tier — the biggest lever. Our base is 4-star family rooms; 5-star or onsen-suite upgrades change totals fast, and the quote shows exactly by how much.
- Season — cherry blossom (late Mar–early Apr) and autumn leaves (Nov) push hotel costs 30-50% up; June and September are value sweet spots.
- Touring days vs free days — a hotel day without the car costs less; the quote prices each day separately so you can tune it.
- Group size & vehicle — up to 4 fits the Alphard; 5-9 moves to the HiAce for a modest step, not a doubling.
The cost almost nobody itemizes: the middleman
If you book this same ground package through a reseller at home, a 15-30% margin is typically layered on top — ¥120,000-240,000 on a ¥800,000 trip, never shown as a line item. Booking direct with the Japan-based operator removes it; we wrote an honest breakdown of when an agency is still worth it (flights, visa, installments) and when it isn't.

The two costs this page does not quote — and why
Every figure above is a ground package: what happens after you land. Two large items sit outside it, and a page called "Japan trip cost from India" owes you an honest account of them even though we do not sell them.
International flights
This is usually the single biggest line in an Indian family's Japan budget, and it moves too much by season, carrier and how far ahead you book for any published figure to stay true. Direct services run from Delhi and Mumbai; one-stop routings through Southeast Asian and Gulf hubs are frequently cheaper and are what most families end up on. Price your own dates rather than trusting anyone's "typical" number, including ours — and price them before committing to trip dates, because a shift of a few days often moves the fare more than any ground arrangement will.
Visa
Japan is not visa-free for Indian passport holders — a visa is required for tourism as much as for business. Since April 2024 a short-term tourist eVisa has been available to Indian nationals, though applications go through VFS Global or an accredited agency rather than directly through the government portal, and single-entry tourist applications still involve attending a VFS centre in person. The visa fee for Indian nationals is 500 INR from 1 July 2026, which is small relative to everything else on this page.
The part worth planning around is not the fee but the paperwork: the application asks for proof of itinerary — confirmed flights and accommodation — plus around six months of bank statements. That creates the usual ordering problem, where the visa wants bookings you would rather not pay for before the visa is granted. A ground package helps here in a practical way: the confirmed itinerary and hotel list we issue at quote stage is the document most applicants use for that requirement. Check the current requirements with the Embassy of Japan in India before you file, since the details do change.
A note on the currency
Everything here is quoted in yen because that is what the trip is actually priced and paid in, and converting to rupees on a page that stays online for months would just be a number going quietly out of date. Check the live rate when you are budgeting, and again when you pay — on a package in the hundreds of thousands of yen, a few percent of movement is real money either way.
