Door-to-door from your Tokyo hotel
Drop-off at the Great Buddha or Kamakura Station
By public transport, Tokyo Station to Kamakura takes about 55 minutes by Shonan-Shinjuku or Yokosuka Line — the trains themselves are easy, but the friction is navigating Kamakura with luggage between multiple temples (Great Buddha, Hasedera, Tsurugaoka Hachimangu are all at different ends of town and require an Enoden tram or bus between them). A private car picks you up at your Tokyo hotel or Tokyo Station and drops you at your Kamakura hotel or the Great Buddha entrance in about 1 to 1.5 hours via the Bayshore and Yokohama-Yokosuka Expressways — and we can also serve as a tour vehicle for a half-day combining all three major sites without the tram shuffle (¥35,000 for a 4-hour package). Kamakura is the Shogunate-era capital and one of Tokyo's top day-trip destinations. Best for an easy day-trip from Tokyo or a 1-night stay at a traditional temple inn.
