This was such an easy stress free experience. I have taken many airport transfers and this was by far the easiest and most efficient experience I have ever had. The communication was frequent and proactive. I cannot say enough about this company. 100% recommend

Tokyo to Mt. Fuji: Transfer Day by Private Charter
Your car and driver for the whole day — from 8 hours, 320 km included
Go anywhere and change plans on the fly — it's your private car for the day
No driving, no parking, no navigating — a professional, English-coordinated driver
One car for the family — Alphard (up to 4) or HiAce (up to 9), child seats on request
Moving from a Tokyo hotel to one in the Fuji Five Lakes is normally a wasted day: check out, drag six suitcases onto a highway bus or the Chuo Line, arrive, check in, and that's the afternoon gone. The luggage is what does it — with big cases you can't stop anywhere on the way, because there's nowhere to put them. A transfer-day charter removes that constraint entirely. Your driver collects you and the bags at your Tokyo hotel, everything stays in the car, and the day between the two hotels becomes real time: Gotemba Premium Outlets for a long shopping stop, Oshino Hakkai or the Chureito Pagoda if you'd rather have the views, then a door drop at your Kawaguchiko or Fujiyoshida hotel with the bags carried in. Eight hours minimum, with tolls, parking and fuel included. Compared with a straight point-to-point transfer the difference is modest — but instead of one drive you get the whole day, and you finish at your new hotel rather than starting from it.

Frequently Asked Questions
You book the car and driver by the hour — a minimum of 8 hours — and they're yours for the day. Choose your own stops — the sample day on this page is just a starting point — and change plans as you go. Each hour includes 40 km of driving, so a 8-hour charter covers up to 320 km — plenty for a Mt. Fuji day trip from Tokyo. And there's no need to over-book hours upfront: start with 8 and extend on the road at the same hourly rate.
The minimum is 8 hours: ¥64,000 for the Alphard (up to 4) or ¥72,000 for the HiAce (up to 9 passengers). That's all-in — a professional driver, 320 km of distance, expressway tolls, parking and fuel are all included. No meter, no surprises. One thing that can change the number: if your pickup or your last stop is well away from one of our vehicle bases, part of the time the car spends driving to reach you, and driving back to base afterwards, is billable — half of that driving time, rounded down to the nearest half hour. The booking page works it out and shows it as its own line before you pay.
Yes — it's your private car. Add a stop, skip one, or linger longer at a viewpoint; just tell your driver. The only limits are the booked hours and the included distance.
Extra time costs no more than booked time: overtime is billed at the same hourly rate — no premium — in 15-minute blocks (¥2,000 per 15 minutes for the Alphard), and anything under 15 minutes is free. Settle it however suits you: cash to the driver, a card payment link on the spot, or the same link paid after you're back at your hotel. Distance beyond the included 40 km/hour is charged at a set per-km rate, always quoted before anything is added. Full policy: https://rydagent.com/en/blog/japan-charter-extend-hours-same-rate
Yes. A charter can cover multiple spots in a day, and cross-city trips are fine too — you can finish somewhere other than where you started, and the booking page prices the car's drive back to base into the quote. An overnight trip adds ¥10,000 per night for the driver's lodging; tell us your plan and we'll quote that part.
The Alphard seats up to 4 with luggage; the HiAce seats up to 9 — a single van that keeps your group together. Child seats are available on request.
Every booking includes a dedicated agent from booking to drop-off, a door pickup confirmed with you in advance, and our driver-no-show guarantee: if a driver doesn't show, you get double your money back — your full fare, plus the same amount again. No claim needed; we contact you first. Every booking also includes an English-speaking agent paired with a licensed professional driver, the founder's direct line for any escalation, and one fixed price with tolls, parking and fuel all included.
Cancel 24 hours or more before pickup for a full refund, free of charge — date, time or destination changes in the same window are free as well (any fare difference is settled). Within 24 hours the fare isn't refundable. Refunds are returned to your original payment method within two weeks.
Only if your charter is within 48 hours. For charters booked 48+ hours ahead, choose Reserve now, pay later: ¥0 due today — your card is verified, then charged automatically 48 hours before your day begins. Cancellation stays free with a full refund until 24 hours before pickup. Charters within 48 hours are paid at booking.
It depends on whether you want the day. A point-to-point transfer gets you there and ends; a charter is your car for eight hours, so the same journey can include a long stop at Gotemba Premium Outlets and still finish at your hotel door. The price gap is smaller than most people expect, and it replaces a travel day with a sightseeing day. If you genuinely just want to arrive — early check-in, tired kids, bad weather — take the point-to-point transfer instead.
They stay in the car with the driver, which is the whole point of doing it this way. You don't need to find coin lockers — most won't take a 80cm case anyway — and you don't need to detour to your hotel first to drop bags off. Guests often plan that detour into the day and then delete it once they realise the luggage never has to leave the vehicle.
Yes — it's your car for the day. Common swaps on this route are Oshino Hakkai, Arakurayama Sengen Park (the five-storey pagoda view), Lake Kawaguchi's north shore, or a winery. Tell the driver on the day; you don't need to lock the plan in when you book.
For a route like this, usually not. Our standard drivers work with international guests year-round and are comfortable using translation apps, and a transfer day with two or three stops is straightforward to communicate. English-speaking drivers are available as a paid upgrade if you want one, but we'd rather you spend the money on the trip — a patient, careful driver matters more on the day than perfect English.
If you're two people with cabin bags, the highway bus from Shinjuku to Kawaguchiko is about ¥2,000-2,200 each and takes around an hour and 45 minutes — far cheaper and perfectly comfortable. If you land at Haneda or Narita and want to go straight to Fuji, book the airport transfer instead — a charter starting at the airport spends its first hours on the expressway. And if your Fuji hotel allows early check-in and you just want to rest, a direct transfer is the better buy.
Not for trips booked 48 or more hours ahead. Reserve now and pay later: nothing is charged today, your card is charged 48 hours before pickup, and cancellation is free until 24 hours before. On a transfer day that helps, because hotel dates sometimes move after you've planned the route.
It's one of Japan's largest outlet centres with around 290 stores, and Mt. Fuji sits behind it on a clear day. Opening hours are 10:00-20:00 from March to November and 10:00-19:00 from December to February. Three hours is a comfortable stop and five is common once people realise the car is waiting — there are two coin-locker areas on site at ¥300-700, but on this itinerary your luggage simply stays in the vehicle.
