No. A RydAgent fare is the same at 3 a.m. as at noon, and the same in Golden Week, Obon and New Year as in a quiet week — there is no night surcharge and no seasonal surcharge.
There is no rush fee for late bookings either. A transfer can be booked up to 2 hours before pickup; a pickup address more than 50 km from the nearest partner base needs 24 hours' notice (airports are exempt). When you book online between 20:00 and 08:00 Japan time, the earliest pickup is the next 10:00 a.m., and an hourly charter has to be booked by 20:00 Japan time the day before. Need a car sooner? There are also no discounts or promo codes. Everyone pays the same public price, so there is nothing to wait for or hunt down.
Pay by card, Apple Pay or Google Pay when you book. For trips more than 48 hours away you can choose Reserve now, pay later: your card is saved but not charged today, and the fare is charged automatically 48 hours before pickup.
Free cancellation runs until 24 hours before pickup — even after a Reserve-now charge, cancelling before that point refunds the full fare. Use the cancel link in your booking email. Inside 24 hours the fare is not refundable, with one exception: if the airline cancels your flight or moves it to another day, you choose between a free change to the new flight and a full refund — even inside 24 hours. This covers airport pickups and drop-offs booked with a flight number; send us the airline's notice or your new flight details.
Fares are never paid in cash; only on-the-day extras such as extra waiting can be settled in cash, by card link on the spot, or by link after you reach your hotel.
If a RydAgent driver doesn't show for a transfer, you get the fare back, we cover the replacement taxi or train you actually take, and we add ¥10,000 on top. On a charter, you get double your money back. We contact you first — you never have to claim.
Every RydAgent ride — including rides run by partner companies — uses a car licensed for paid passenger service (it carries green number plates) and a driver with a professional passenger licence, and carries commercial passenger insurance. In Japan only cars and drivers with both may carry paying passengers; private “white-plate” cars taking fares are illegal, and we never use them.

Free waiting is 90 minutes from your actual landing. Tipping is never expected — never required. The only extras are options you choose yourself, such as child seats or waiting beyond the free allowance. Waiting past the free allowance is ¥6,000/hour for an Alphard and ¥8,000/hour for a HiAce, in 15-minute blocks — and your driver does not leave when it runs out: if he has another transfer after yours, we reassign it so he can keep waiting.
