This was such an easy stress free experience. I have taken many airport transfers and this was by far the easiest and most efficient experience I have ever had. The communication was frequent and proactive. I cannot say enough about this company. 100% recommend
Can my driver be my tour guide?
Last updated:
No — RydAgent doesn't arrange tour guides; an hourly charter gives you a private car and driver for the day, and you choose where to go. For charter days, tell us the places you'd like to see and we'll check the driving times fit your hours; drivers know the main sights well and can recommend stops along the way. Most drivers have basic English and use a translation app to communicate. Charters start at 8 hours, from ¥7,000 an hour for an Alphard when the whole day stays inside Tokyo or Osaka City.
How a charter day works
- 1
Book the hours
Choose Hourly on the booking page: 8 hours minimum, with 40 km of driving included per hour, tolls, parking and fuel included.
- 2
Tell us the places
Add your plan for the day when you book. We check the driving times fit your hours, and your driver sees the plan.
- 3
Your driver drives and waits
Your driver takes you from stop to stop and waits while you visit; waiting is part of your booked hours.
- 4
Extend on the road
Want longer? Extra time is the same hourly rate, in 15-minute blocks — under 15 minutes isn't charged.
How do I talk to my driver during the day?
Use the chat on your booking page: you write in your language and your driver reads it in theirs. An English-speaking driver is an add-on on the booking page, 20 percent extra.
How much is a charter day?
When the whole day stays inside Tokyo or Osaka City: Alphard ¥7,000 an hour, HiAce ¥8,000. Elsewhere, Kyoto and Nagoya included: ¥8,000 and ¥9,000; charters starting in the Sendai area, ¥16,000 and ¥18,000. Eight hours in Tokyo in an Alphard is ¥56,000. Your exact price, including the day's zone, appears on the booking page.
