This was such an easy stress free experience. I have taken many airport transfers and this was by far the easiest and most efficient experience I have ever had. The communication was frequent and proactive. I cannot say enough about this company. 100% recommend
How does overtime work on an hourly charter?
Last updated:
On a RydAgent hourly charter, overtime costs the same hourly rate as your booking — no premium — billed in 15-minute blocks, and anything under 15 minutes isn't charged. Charters start at 8 hours, so the simplest plan is to book 8 and extend on the road: just tell your driver, with no change to your booking. When the whole day stays inside Tokyo or Osaka City, that's ¥7,000 an hour for an Alphard and ¥8,000 for a HiAce; elsewhere, Kyoto and Nagoya included, ¥8,000 and ¥9,000; for charters starting in the Sendai area, ¥16,000 and ¥18,000. You settle it by cash to your driver, a card payment link on the spot, or the same link later from your hotel.
How extending a charter works
- 1
Book the hours you're sure of
The minimum is 8 hours. There's no need to buy extra hours up front.
- 2
Tell your driver on the day
When you want more time, say so. Your booking stays as it is.
- 3
Pay only for what you use
Extra time is billed at your charter's hourly rate in 15-minute blocks; under 15 minutes is free.
- 4
Settle it your way
Cash to your driver, a card payment link on the spot, or the link later, once you're back at your hotel.
I booked an English-speaking driver — is overtime different?
The English-speaking driver add-on is +20% on every hour, including extra time. So your overtime rate is your hourly rate plus 20%: for example ¥8,400 an hour for an Alphard in Tokyo city instead of ¥7,000. It's still billed in 15-minute blocks.
What if we start late, or the driver arrives late?
If you're late, you can still board, but your hours run from the booked start and the charter ends at the booked end time; staying longer is overtime. If your driver arrives after the booked start, your hours start when they arrive, and the charter ends that much later.
The charter ends somewhere else — is there a return fee?
It's already in your price. The booking page adds the driver's empty drive to your start and back from your end location, at half the drive time rounded down to the half hour, as its own line. If the charter ends far from where it started, the price is at least the transfer fare for the same start and end, shown as a long-distance fee.
