This was such an easy stress free experience. I have taken many airport transfers and this was by far the easiest and most efficient experience I have ever had. The communication was frequent and proactive. I cannot say enough about this company. 100% recommend

Mt. Fuji (Kawaguchiko) to Hakone
~1.5 hr door-to-door — no changes with luggage
Private car, just your group — leave Kawaguchiko exactly when you want
Direct to Hakone, bags loaded for you
One car for the family — Alphard 4+4 or HiAce 9+9
There's no direct train or bus from Lake Kawaguchiko to Hakone. The Fujikyu line out of the Fuji lakes runs only to Otsuki, so rail means a long way round with changes, and the bus is two legs with a change at Gotemba: a Fujikyu bus from Kawaguchiko Station to Gotemba, then an Odakyu or Hakone Tozan bus over the Otome Pass to Sengokuhara, Gora or Lake Ashi. Your suitcases come with you through the change, and from the Hakone bus stop you still have to reach the hotel itself. A private car makes it one ride: the driver picks you up at your hotel by the lakes and takes you to your hotel or ryokan in Hakone. RydAgent's Kawaguchiko to Hakone price is the same from any of the Fuji Five Lakes — Kawaguchiko, Saiko, Shoji, Motosu or Yamanakako — to anywhere in Hakone town, whether that's Hakone-Yumoto, Miyanoshita, Gora, Sengokuhara or the Lake Ashi shore: ¥32,000 for up to 4 passengers in an Alphard, or ¥35,000 for up to 9 in a HiAce, which takes 9 passengers with 9 large suitcases, so a group of 5–9 rides together instead of splitting across sedan taxis. Tolls and parking are included.

Frequently Asked Questions
On this route, usually yes — the highway bus is ~¥2,550–3,420 with a change at Gotemba and stops at set stops rather than your door; a private car is direct door-to-door and fixed at ¥32,000; for a party of 4 that's ≈¥8,000 each with zero transfers. Per person, one or two travellers with light luggage will still pay less on public transport, and a metered taxi (¥25,000–30,000) can come in under our fixed price too — the private car wins on luggage, group size and leaving when you want, not on being the cheapest.
About 1.5 hr for the roughly 55 km door-to-door. The highway bus takes ~1.5–3.5 hr via Gotemba; a private car goes straight there.
A taxi's real advantage is that it's there without booking, and for one or two people with light bags that's often the sensible choice — we won't pretend otherwise. Where it fits less well is the longer run to Hakone. The fare is metered — for this distance it runs about ¥25,000–30,000 with the expressway tolls and booking fee on top, and the meter climbs higher in heavy traffic or with a 20% night surcharge between 22:00 and 05:00. Booked through an app, the figure you accept at request time is an estimate — the card is charged whatever the meter and the taxi company's pickup fee actually come to. A sedan taxi seats only 4 with room for a bag or two, can't fit a child seat, and with a language barrier it's hard to explain exactly where you need to go. We're fixed at ¥32,000 — a guaranteed all-in price, tolls included and no night surcharge; no pickup fee, no return fee, no clock running at red lights or in traffic, and apart from waiting beyond the free allowance nothing else is ever charged — and you get a premium Alphard or a HiAce (up to 9 passengers), child seats on request, and a driver who picks you up at your door, on time.
You can — Uber Premier uses Alphard-class cars, the same class as the Toyota Alphard we use. The catch on a run this long is the pricing model: it's dynamic, from around ¥22,000 up to ¥34,000 with surge, while we're fixed at ¥32,000 all-in, tolls included, whatever the demand that day. Uber's standard tier (Uber Taxi) simply dispatches a regular metered taxi — about ¥25,000–30,000 plus tolls for this route, billed by the meter plus the taxi company's pickup fee, so the final charge often lands above the in-app estimate. And no Uber tier offers a van for up to 9 passengers. Same class of car either way; what you're choosing with us is one price prepaid at booking — no pickup fee, no return fee, no surge, no clock running at red lights or in traffic, and apart from waiting beyond the free allowance nothing else is ever charged — plus child seats on request (¥2,000 each) and your driver's details on your booking page once assigned.
Before pickup we text or email you a link to your booking page — your driver's name, car and plate once assigned, and a chat with your driver or our team. The driver then meets you at your Kawaguchiko pickup point and loads your luggage. You leave exactly when you want; we handle the route, tolls and parking.
Per seat, public transport usually wins on paper. But one full-size HiAce (up to 9 passengers) is ¥35,000 fixed for the whole vehicle: ¥3,889 per person with 9 aboard, ¥5,833 with 6 — door-to-door, luggage loaded for you, no station transfers. For comparison, the largest car Uber lists at Japan's main airports takes 5 passengers, and jumbo taxis for up to 9 passengers have to be reserved in advance through a taxi company; one HiAce carries up to 9 passengers with 9 large suitcases and 9 carry-ons.
The Alphard seats up to 4 with 4 large suitcases plus personal bags on your lap (with fewer passengers, empty seats carry luggage too: passengers plus large suitcases up to 8); the HiAce seats up to 9 with 9 large suitcases (passengers plus large suitcases up to 18) — a full-size van that Uber and the taxi apps don't offer (their largest options seat 5) and that jumbo taxis only match by advance reservation through a taxi company, so your whole group stays together in one vehicle. We can't see your bags in advance, so if passengers plus large suitcases go over those totals, we'd suggest the HiAce or a second car — a suggestion, not a requirement. Infant and child seats (both forward-facing) and booster cushions are ¥2,000 each and need to be booked in advance.
A private transfer is a direct ride. One short stop on the way — under 30 minutes, such as a photo or a convenience store — can be added with Driver assistance (¥3,000 Alphard / ¥4,000 HiAce) when you book; write the stop in your booking notes. For two or more stops, or any stop of 30 minutes or more, book a private charter by the hour instead — the car waits while you sightsee. On drives of more than two hours, restroom breaks on the way are free.
Every booking includes: a dedicated agent from booking to drop-off; a door pickup confirmed with you in advance; our driver-no-show guarantee — if a driver doesn't show, your ride is free: we refund your fare in full, cover whatever you took instead (taxi, train, no cap), and add ¥10,000. No claim needed; we contact you first. Every booking also includes an English-speaking agent paired with a licensed professional driver; an urgent line on the day (call or WhatsApp +81 70-8830-8866 — we reply in English); and one fixed price with tolls, late-night charges and parking all included.
Cancel 24 hours or more before pickup for a full refund, free of charge — date, time or destination changes in the same window are free as well (any fare difference is settled). Within 24 hours of pickup the fare isn't refundable. Refunds are returned to your original payment method within two weeks.
No — there's no direct bus from Kawaguchiko to Hakone; the bus route is two legs with a change at Gotemba. Leg one is a Fujikyu bus from Kawaguchiko Station: the local bus to Gotemba Station is ¥1,750 (about 70–105 minutes, no reservation needed), or the Gotemba Liner express is ¥2,300 (¥2,200 paid online in advance; about an hour to Gotemba Station or the Gotemba Premium Outlets, all seats reserved, so book ahead). Leg two is an Odakyu or Hakone Tozan bus from Gotemba over the Otome Pass into Hakone: ¥800 to Sengoku (Sengokuhara), ¥1,080 to Togendai on Lake Ashi or ¥1,120 to Gora, about 20–40 minutes. In total that's roughly ¥2,550–3,420 per person and 1.5–3.5 hours, depending on the connection at Gotemba. Want to travel light between cities? Your hotel's front desk can send suitcases ahead by takkyubin (Japan's door-to-door luggage delivery). Prefer to keep them with you? A HiAce has room for plenty of luggage, door to door. The Kawaguchiko to Hakone private transfer is one ride from hotel to hotel: ¥32,000 for up to 4 passengers (Alphard) or ¥35,000 for up to 9 (HiAce), tolls included.
Online booking for the Kawaguchiko to Hakone transfer runs until 20:00 Japan time the day before the ride, subject to availability. Pickup addresses more than 50 km by road from the nearest partner base also need 24 hours' notice, and Lake Kawaguchiko, Fujiyoshida and the lakes to the west (Saiko, Shoji, Motosu) are beyond that distance — so book those pickups at least 24 hours ahead. Lake Yamanakako is closer and only needs the 20:00 cutoff. The booking page only offers pickup times you can still book for your address, and booking late costs the same fixed price — no rush fee. For anything sooner, message us on WhatsApp and we'll check whether a car can be arranged.
Gotemba lies between the Fuji lakes and Hakone, but a Kawaguchiko to Hakone transfer covers at most one short stop of under 30 minutes (added with Driver assistance when you book), and most outlet visits run longer than that. For the outlets — or for stops at Oshino Hakkai or Lake Yamanaka — book the day as an hourly charter instead (the Hourly option on the booking page, minimum 8 hours): the car and driver stay with you and wait while you visit, then take you on to your hotel in Hakone. Charters starting around Lake Kawaguchiko can be booked online until 20:00 Japan time the day before and at least 24 hours ahead, subject to availability; for anything sooner, message us on WhatsApp and we'll check whether a car can be arranged.
Both the Fuji lakes and Hakone are in the mountains, and the roads around them can get snow and ice in winter. In the snow season (roughly November to April) the car runs on winter tyres as standard — you don't need to request them. Heavy snow can still slow mountain roads, so on snowy days leave extra time before anything that can't wait. The Kawaguchiko to Hakone price stays the same: ¥32,000 for up to 4 passengers or ¥35,000 for up to 9, tolls included.
Yes. The price you see is the price you pay — tolls, parking, fuel and taxes are all included. Free waiting at pickup is 30 minutes. Tipping is never expected — never required. The only extras are options you choose yourself, such as child seats or waiting beyond the free allowance. After the free 30 minutes your driver may have another booking, so he can wait longer only if his schedule allows — if you might be late, tell us as early as possible; if he can't wait, we do our best to make it work, and if that isn't possible he has to leave and the ride is cancelled without a refund. Any extra waiting is ¥6,000/hour for an Alphard and ¥8,000/hour for a HiAce, in 15-minute blocks (under 15 minutes is free). If we get no reply from you on any channel the day before and on the day itself, the driver may leave once the free 30 minutes are up — that counts as a no-show and is not refunded. Yes. A rydagent.com booking link can carry the whole trip, so you can send it to the person you're booking for, or open one an AI assistant gives you: it opens with the fixed price showing, and nothing is booked until you add your contact details and pay or reserve. For this route with 2 passengers: rydagent.com/en/booking?from=Mt.%20Fuji%20%2F%20Kawaguchiko&to=Hakone&pax=2 — it opens at ¥32,000 for an Alphard (up to 4 passengers), tolls included. Add &date=YYYY-MM-DD&time=HH:MM (Japan time, 24-hour clock; for an airport pickup, your landing time) to fill in the day, and change pax for 1–9 passengers — 5 or more selects the HiAce (up to 9 passengers).
