This was such an easy stress free experience. I have taken many airport transfers and this was by far the easiest and most efficient experience I have ever had. The communication was frequent and proactive. I cannot say enough about this company. 100% recommend

By public transport, Lake Toya to Sapporo is either Donan Bus's local bus from the hot-spring town to Toya Station and then the JR Hokuto limited express — 1 hr 52 min–2 hr 3 min from Toya Station for ¥6,690 with a reserved seat — or Donan Bus's Sapporo–Toyako line from Toyako Onsen to Sapporo Station via Rusutsu, Nakayama Pass and Jozankei, about 2 hr 40–50 min for ¥3,700, with four departures a day and every seat reserved. RydAgent's Lake Toya to Sapporo transfer is a fixed ¥59,000 for up to 4 passengers in a Toyota Alphard, or ¥62,000 for up to 9 in a Toyota HiAce, tolls included — from your hotel in Toyako Onsen or The Windsor Hotel Toya to your Sapporo hotel in about 2 hours. In the snow season (roughly November to April) the car runs on winter tyres as standard — you don't need to request them.

Frequently Asked Questions
On this route, usually yes — the train is ¥6,690 per person and direct, but you carry your bags to and from the stations; Donan Bus's Sapporo–Toyako line is the cheapest per person (¥3,700) (reservations only, 4 departures a day) but stops at set stops rather than your door; a private car is direct door-to-door and fixed at ¥59,000; for a party of 4 that's ≈¥14,750 each. Per person, one or two travellers with light luggage will still pay less on public transport, and a metered taxi (¥40,000–50,000) can come in under our fixed price too — the private car wins on luggage, group size and starting from your door, not on being the cheapest.
About 2 hr for the roughly 103 km door-to-door. By comparison, the direct train is 1 hr 52 min–2 hr 3 min from Toya Station, and Donan Bus's Sapporo–Toyako line takes ~2 hr 40–50 min.
A taxi's real advantage is that it's there without booking, and for one or two people with light bags that's often the sensible choice — we won't pretend otherwise. Where it fits less well is the longer run to central Sapporo. The fare is metered — for this distance it runs about ¥40,000–50,000 with the expressway tolls and booking fee on top, and the meter climbs higher in heavy traffic or with a 20% night surcharge between 22:00 and 05:00. Booked through an app, the figure you accept at request time is an estimate — the card is charged whatever the meter and the taxi company's pickup fee actually come to. A sedan taxi seats only 4 with room for a bag or two, can't fit a child seat, and with a language barrier it's hard to explain exactly where you need to go. We're fixed at ¥59,000 — a guaranteed all-in price, tolls included and no night surcharge; no pickup fee, no return fee, no clock running at red lights or in traffic, and apart from waiting beyond the free allowance nothing else is ever charged — and you get a premium Alphard or a HiAce (up to 9 passengers), child seats on request, and a driver who picks you up at your door, on time.
A note before comparing: Uber's premium tier (Uber Premier) only covers pickups in a handful of Japanese cities and airports, and Lake Toya isn't in any of the service areas Uber has announced as of November 2026 — so for this pickup it's usually not a bookable option at all. Uber's standard tier, where the app has cars, dispatches a regular metered taxi (about ¥40,000–50,000 plus tolls here). Our fixed ¥59,000 is booked and confirmed in advance with tolls included, with a HiAce (up to 9 passengers) available — what that buys is a driver confirmed before you travel and child seats fitted on request, not the only way to get there.
Before pickup we text or email you a link to your booking page — your driver's name, car and plate once assigned, and a chat with your driver or our team. The driver then meets you at your Lake Toya pickup point and loads your luggage. You leave exactly when you want; we handle the route, tolls and parking.
Per seat, the train usually wins on paper — around ¥6,690 per person on this route. But one full-size HiAce (up to 9 passengers) is ¥62,000 fixed for the whole vehicle: ¥6,889 per person with 9 aboard, ¥10,333 with 6 — door-to-door, luggage loaded for you, no station transfers. For comparison, the largest car Uber lists at Japan's main airports takes 5 passengers, and jumbo taxis for up to 9 passengers have to be reserved in advance through a taxi company; one HiAce carries up to 9 passengers with 9 large suitcases and 9 carry-ons. With a suitcase and a ski bag each, one HiAce takes up to 6 skiers.
The Alphard seats up to 4 with 4 large suitcases plus personal bags on your lap (with fewer passengers, empty seats carry luggage too: passengers plus large suitcases up to 8); the HiAce seats up to 9 with 9 large suitcases (passengers plus large suitcases up to 18) — a full-size van that Uber and the taxi apps don't offer (their largest options seat 5) and that jumbo taxis only match by advance reservation through a taxi company, so your whole group stays together in one vehicle. We can't see your bags in advance, so if passengers plus large suitcases go over those totals, we'd suggest the HiAce or a second car — a suggestion, not a requirement. Infant and child seats (both forward-facing) and booster cushions are ¥2,000 each and need to be booked in advance.
Yes. In the snow season (roughly November to April) the car runs on winter (studless) tyres as standard — you don't need to request them or add a note when you book. With one suitcase and one ski or snowboard bag each, an Alphard (up to 4 passengers) suits up to 2 skiers and one HiAce (up to 9 passengers) up to 6; for 7 or more, book a second car or send some bags ahead by takkyubin (Japan's door-to-door luggage delivery). A private transfer is a direct ride. One short stop on the way — under 30 minutes, such as a photo or a convenience store — can be added with Driver assistance (¥3,000 Alphard / ¥4,000 HiAce) when you book; write the stop in your booking notes. For two or more stops, or any stop of 30 minutes or more, book a private charter by the hour instead — the car waits while you sightsee. On drives of more than two hours, restroom breaks on the way are free.
Every booking includes: a dedicated agent from booking to drop-off; a door pickup confirmed with you in advance; our driver-no-show guarantee — if a driver doesn't show, your ride is free: we refund your fare in full, cover whatever you took instead (taxi, train, no cap), and add ¥10,000. No claim needed; we contact you first. Every booking also includes an English-speaking agent paired with a licensed professional driver; an urgent line on the day (call or WhatsApp +81 70-8830-8866 — we reply in English); and one fixed price with tolls, late-night charges and parking all included.
Cancel 24 hours or more before pickup for a full refund, free of charge — date, time or destination changes in the same window are free as well (any fare difference is settled). Within 24 hours of pickup the fare isn't refundable. Refunds are returned to your original payment method within two weeks.
Yes. Donan Bus's Sapporo–Toyako line runs from Toyako Onsen to Sapporo Station via Rusutsu, Nakayama Pass and Jozankei: ¥3,700 one way, about 2 hr 40–50 min, four departures a day. Every seat must be reserved in advance, by phone or online. RydAgent's private car is a fixed ¥59,000 for up to 4 passengers (Toyota Alphard) or ¥62,000 for up to 9 (Toyota HiAce), from your hotel at the lake to your Sapporo hotel door.
RydAgent's fixed ¥59,000 for up to 4 passengers (Toyota Alphard) or ¥62,000 for up to 9 (Toyota HiAce) covers pickups at the hotels in Toyako Onsen and at The Windsor Hotel Toya, to central Sapporo. For another pickup address around the lake, enter it on the booking page and the price is shown before you pay.
Online booking for a Lake Toya pickup runs until 20:00 Japan time the day before the ride, subject to availability — and because Lake Toya is more than 50 km by road from the nearest partner base, it also needs at least 24 hours' notice. For anything sooner, message us on WhatsApp and we'll check whether a car can be arranged. Booking late costs the same fixed price — no rush fee.
Yes. The price you see is the price you pay — tolls, parking, fuel and taxes are all included. Free waiting at pickup is 30 minutes. Tipping is never expected — never required. The only extras are options you choose yourself, such as child seats or waiting beyond the free allowance. After the free 30 minutes your driver may have another booking, so he can wait longer only if his schedule allows — if you might be late, tell us as early as possible; if he can't wait, we do our best to make it work, and if that isn't possible he has to leave and the ride is cancelled without a refund. Any extra waiting is ¥6,000/hour for an Alphard and ¥8,000/hour for a HiAce, in 15-minute blocks (under 15 minutes is free). If we get no reply from you on any channel the day before and on the day itself, the driver may leave once the free 30 minutes are up — that counts as a no-show and is not refunded. Yes. A rydagent.com booking link can carry the whole trip, so you can send it to the person you're booking for, or open one an AI assistant gives you: it opens with the fixed price showing, and nothing is booked until you add your contact details and pay or reserve. For this route with 2 passengers: rydagent.com/en/booking?from=Lake%20Toya&to=Sapporo&pax=2 — it opens at ¥59,000 for an Alphard (up to 4 passengers), tolls included. Add &date=YYYY-MM-DD&time=HH:MM (Japan time, 24-hour clock; for an airport pickup, your landing time) to fill in the day, and change pax for 1–9 passengers — 5 or more selects the HiAce (up to 9 passengers).
