Kitakyushu Airport (KKJ, ICAO RJFR) is the airport for Kitakyushu, about 32 km by road from Kokura Station. Seoul and Busan (Jin Air, with Korean Air codeshares) and Taipei fly here; a Taichung charter programme started in August 2026. One terminal on reclaimed land offshore, joined to the city by a bridge: the arrivals lobby, information desk and bus stops are on 1F, departures and both the domestic and international gate lounges on 2F. There is no rail link; the Nishitetsu airport bus to Kokura Station is ¥710 and about 40 minutes on the nonstop runs, with a shuttle to Kusami Station on the JR Nippo Line.
