Quick AnswerFurano is closest to Asahikawa Airport: the Furano Bus Lavender line takes about an hour to Furano Station for ¥790 (¥940 to the New Furano Prince Hotel), runs 7 times a day with the last bus at 20:02 on the timetable in force as of 2 October 2026, needs no reservation — and does not wait for flights. A taxi from Asahikawa Airport to Furano Station is about ¥14,900 by the airport's own estimate, 20% more in winter (25 November – 31 March). From New Chitose Airport, Hokkaido Bus's new Bus Gorilla Liner Furano is ¥5,000 (1 h 53 min to Furano Station, last bus 17:30; winter times not announced as of 2 October 2026), and the reservation-only Hokkaido Resort Liner is ¥6,000 from 1 December. JR from New Chitose needs two changes and about 3 hours (¥5,660 with a reserved limited-express seat). A RydAgent private car is a fixed ¥49,000 from Asahikawa Airport (about 50 minutes) or ¥70,000 from New Chitose (about 125 minutes) per Toyota Alphard (up to 4 passengers); a Toyota HiAce (up to 9 passengers) is ¥52,000 or ¥77,000 — worth it for arrivals after the last bus, lodges away from the bus stops, or families and groups travelling with ski gear. You’re always in the loop — AI or a real person responds instantly, so you’re never left wondering where your driver is. Book in 30 seconds at rydagent.com — no sign-up, no login required.

About Furano

Furano sits in the middle of Hokkaido, in the basin between the Tokachi and Yubari ranges. The Furano Ski Resort has two zones — Kitanomine and Furano — with 28 courses, 11 lifts, a longest run of 4,000 m and 839 m of vertical, and its base is about 6 km from Furano Station. Asahikawa Airport is the nearer airport, to the north; New Chitose Airport is further south. In summer the same valley is Hokkaido's lavender country.

When to Visit

Spring

Spring skiing is planned until 5 May 2027, the last day of the lift-ticket season (1-day pass ¥7,500 from 23 March), with the airport ski buses ending on 30–31 March.

Summer

Lavender season — the main reason most visitors know the name — with the Lavender bus from Asahikawa running all year.

Autumn

Quiet harvest season before the planned ski opening on 28 November 2026.

Winter

The ski resort plans to run from 28 November 2026; the regular 1-day pass is ¥9,000. Night skiing runs from mid-December to 21 March 2027.

What to Do

  • ◆Two ski zones on one pass — Kitanomine for the town side, Furano for the Prince Hotel side.
  • ◆Night skiing from mid-December 2026 to 21 March 2027.
  • ◆A day in Asahikawa or Biei on the JR Furano Line (Asahikawa–Furano about 1 h 10 min, ¥1,380).
  • ◆Furano town's restaurants and the station area, 6 km from the slopes (about 12 minutes by taxi).

From Asahikawa Airport

The Lavender bus at ¥790–940 is the obvious choice for most travellers, and a taxi (about ¥14,900 by the airport's estimate, +20% in winter) also costs less than a RydAgent private car. Book RydAgent when you land after the 20:02 last bus and want the price fixed before you fly, when a delay is likely (the driver waits 90 minutes from actual landing), when your group needs one car for up to 9 passengers, or when your lodge is off the bus route.

From New Chitose Airport

If your flight lands at New Chitose rather than Asahikawa, book a RydAgent private car for arrivals after the last bus (17:30 Bus Gorilla, 17:50 Resort Liner), international arrivals that cannot leave the 90 minutes the Resort Liner requires, or groups with skis.

Booking with RydAgent: what you get

  • Fixed price per car: tolls, parking, fuel and taxes included, no late-night surcharge or rush fee, and tipping is never expected.
  • Free waiting: 90 minutes from actual landing on airport pickups — your driver tracks the flight — and 30 minutes on other pickups; after that, ¥6,000 per hour for an Alphard or ¥8,000 for a HiAce, in 15-minute blocks (under 15 minutes is free).
  • Toyota Alphard: up to 4 passengers and 4 large suitcases (8 people and large bags in total). Toyota HiAce: up to 9 passengers and 9 large suitcases (18 in total). Ski and snowboard bags count as large bags: with a suitcase and a ski bag each, an Alphard takes two skiers at most, so three or more need the HiAce; one HiAce takes up to six of them, and seven or more need a second car or to send bags ahead. Tell us how many bags and how long they are when you book.
  • Child seats ¥2,000 each — requested at booking and fitted before pickup.
  • Book online in 30 seconds with no account or login. Airport pickups can be booked as late as 2 hours before pickup (when you book between 20:00 and 08:00 Japan time, the earliest pickup is the next 10:00 a.m.); pickups more than 50 km from the nearest partner base — most ski resorts and mountain villages — need 24 hours.
  • Free cancellation or changes up to 24 hours before pickup. If the airline cancels your flight or moves it to another day, you choose a free change or a full refund — even inside 24 hours (airport rides booked with a flight number).
  • Licensed commercial vehicles (green plates) and professional drivers, with commercial passenger insurance — including rides run by partner companies.
  • Booking and support in English. Most drivers have basic English and use a translation app to communicate; a fluent-English driver can be requested for 20% extra.

Frequently Asked Questions

Asahikawa, if you can fly there: Furano is about an hour away on the ¥790–940 Lavender bus, and a RydAgent private car from Asahikawa Airport is ¥49,000 per Toyota Alphard (up to 4 passengers), about 50 minutes. If you land at New Chitose instead, the buses take about two hours (¥5,000–6,000), JR about 3 hours with two changes, and a RydAgent private car about 125 minutes for ¥70,000 per Alphard.

Yes. Hokkaido Bus's Bus Gorilla Liner Furano (from 10 August 2026) runs 4 times a day for ¥5,000 on the timetable as of 2 October 2026 (winter times not yet announced), and the reservation-only Hokkaido Resort Liner runs 4 times a day from 1 December for ¥6,000. The last departures are 17:30 and 17:50.

A RydAgent private car is a fixed ¥49,000 per Toyota Alphard (up to 4 passengers) or ¥52,000 per Toyota HiAce (up to 9 passengers), per vehicle, about 50 minutes door to door. A taxi is cheaper — about ¥14,900 to Furano Station by Asahikawa Airport's estimate, 20% more from 25 November to 31 March — but it is an estimate, not a fixed fare.

The Resort Liner trunk takes ski gear plus one other bag per person; Bus Gorilla takes one ski bag plus one other bag per person in the hold, and one more item on board. The Lavender bus is an ordinary route bus with no seat reservations, so ask Furano Bus about large ski bags. With RydAgent, ski and board bags count as large luggage: an Alphard takes up to 4 passengers and 4 large suitcases and a HiAce up to 9 and 9, so with a suitcase and a ski bag each, an Alphard takes two skiers at most and three or more need the HiAce, one HiAce takes up to six of them, and seven or more need a second car or to send bags ahead — tell us how many bags and how long they are when you book.

Yes — RydAgent can send a car on studless winter tyres: write 'snow road' or 'winter tyres' in the booking notes and dispatch assigns one. The note is what tells dispatch, so don't leave it out.

— J C

The driver contacted us as soon as we landed in Tokyo. He provided clear instructions how to meet after we got our luggage. He had to wait an extra 30 mins since our plane was delayed. Great service, great / clean car and a nice ride to our hotel. Thanks.

— Henry Avetisyan, Jul 2026

My wife and I had a flawless experience using this transfer service from Tokyo's Haneda Airport to Central Tokyo. Although we are in our 70s, we are experienced travelers and usually take public transit or a taxi from airports to hotels. However, this was our first trip to Asia and with a 12-hour flight from Chicago, we decided that we needed to make the hotel transfer easy. And it was. Communication with the company was excellent. They messaged me through WhatsApp several times to make everything was clear. In fact, I messaged them when we landed, that the plane was an hour early and hoped they could pick us up sooner. They responded yes and sure enough our driver,John, was there to meet us past customs. John was very friendly and very professional. His English was excellent. He handled the luggage. The vehicle was comfortable. He made us feel welcome. I highly recommend them and would use them again without hesitation.

— S Lund, May 2026

Great experience with this taxi service from the customer service to the driver and the car everything works like a clock

— Michael Bakov, Jul 2026

Our driver picked us up at our hotel and dropped us at Haneda Airport Departures (Terminal 3) as requested. It was a very comfortable and safe ride and the vehicle was very clean and spacious. Thank you so much!

— Valerie Pendon, Jun 2026

Great experience using this private transfer from our hotel to Haneda Airport. Booking was easy, and when we needed to adjust our pickup time, the operator was very responsive. The driver arrived on time and the ride was smooth and stress-free. Would definitely use again.

— Karen Kiefer-Fujimoto, Jun 2026

Professional service that takes the stress out of airport transfers. Our family has been to Tokyo a few times. Airport transfer by train, taxi, and private car. This service is good value, especially for groups. We had a very comfortable and well kept vehicle. Driver was very professional, polite, and easy to work with. We had an hour long flight delay and sat on the runway for 20 minutes after landing. This service was very flexible and helpful through the situation. Driver was patiently waiting when we arrived.

— Mark OBrien, Jun 2026

Karazawa Ryou was our driver. He texted us his contact info via Whatsap the day before our flight. In between flights, we learned that our connecting flight had been delayed. Instead of arriving at 9:15pm, we would now be arriving at I1:30pm. Such a significant amount of delay time...plus, arriving so much LATER at night, I was worried that our driver would no longer be able to pick us up. I notified him, and he responded, "Don't worry. I'll wait for you. See you later." He even included a smiley face! I went from panic to peace in an instant. As we were exiting the plane, I received a text from him notifying me that we had landed at Terminal 2, so it would be quicker to get out. I should let him know once we had picked up our luggage, and he would be at the exit within one minute with a sign. I was pleasantly surprised at how smoothly this process went, and the SUV exceeded my expectations. It was lush and immaculately clean. I commend the driver on his professionalism and would not hesitate to hire him again. This experience was BETTER THAN PERFECT!

— Cheryl FitzGerald, May 2026

Very nice transfer service. Very helpful and most pleasant experience. Would use them again.

— William Thornton BC Guide Dogs, May 2026

Excellent experience from start to finish. Communication before arrival was clear and professional, and the driver was waiting exactly as instructed after we cleared customs at Haneda Airport. After a long international flight, having a smooth private transfer to our hotel made a huge difference. The vehicle was clean and comfortable, the ride was efficient, and the entire process felt very organized and stress-free. We especially appreciated the prompt responses and easy coordination through WhatsApp. Highly recommend KJ Tour for anyone arriving in Tokyo and wanting a reliable, comfortable airport transfer experience.
