For one or two people with a suitcase each, the JR Rapid Airport train into Sapporo Station is the sensible choice. A fixed ¥31,000 car for up to 4 (about 50 minutes) wins for ski bags, families, a hotel that isn't at the station, or a winter arrival after the last train — and for Niseko, Rusutsu or Furano, where the public option is a reservation-only bus, the car is the practical way for any group.

New Chitose to central Sapporo is a fixed ¥31,000 for an Alphard (up to 4) or ¥34,000 for a HiAce (up to 9 passengers), all-inclusive. Niseko, Rusutsu, Kiroro, Furano, Tomamu and Otaru each have a fixed price on the route pages below — the same price in January as in July.

Yes. With a suitcase and a ski or board bag each, an Alphard suits up to 2 skiers and a HiAce (up to 9 passengers) suits up to 6 skiers; for bigger groups we'd suggest a second vehicle or sending gear ahead. Tell us the bag count when booking and we confirm the right vehicle. Every vehicle in our Hokkaido partner network runs on winter tyres in season.

No. An airport taxi is metered and hailed at the rank on the spot; a New Chitose Airport private transfer is a pre-booked car at a fixed all-inclusive price, with a named driver who tracks your flight and waits at arrivals with a name board. On longer airport runs the fixed price is usually close to or below the meter; on very short runs a taxi can be cheaper for one person — the comparison table on each CTS route page shows both, with real fares.

As standard, your driver waits in the arrivals hall holding a sign with your name. Collect your bags, clear customs, walk out — the name board is the first thing you look for. If airport conditions ever make a name board impossible (peak-hour parking restrictions, for example), the driver sends you a photo and their exact location in the chat on your booking page, so you are never left searching.

Nothing changes for you. We track the flight number, and free waiting at New Chitose Airport is 90 minutes counted from the moment the flight actually lands — a delay simply moves the clock. Beyond 90 minutes, waiting is billed in 15-minute blocks (Alphard ¥6,000/hour, HiAce ¥8,000/hour). The driver never leaves without telling you.

If your arriving flight is cancelled by the airline, you choose: a free rebooking to your new flight (free waiting restarts from the new landing time) or a full refund. This applies even inside the 24-hour window before pickup — the cancellation isn't your fault, so it isn't treated as one.

For peak dates (cherry blossom, Golden Week, Obon, year-end) book a few days ahead so the HiAce (up to 9 passengers) is still available.

Yes. The New Chitose Airport transfer price you see is the price you pay: expressway tolls, airport parking, fuel and taxes are all inside it, and tipping is never expected. There is no late-night surcharge either — a 1 a.m. pickup costs the same as a 1 p.m. one.

The Toyota HiAce: nine passengers and nine large suitcases in one vehicle, one fixed price. The Alphard takes up to 4 passengers with 4 large cases. With fewer passengers, empty seats carry luggage too (passengers plus large suitcases up to 8 in the Alphard, 18 in the HiAce). Both are shown with prices on every New Chitose Airport route page.

Yes. The price you see is the price you pay — tolls, parking, fuel and taxes are all included, and meet & greet with a name board at arrivals is standard. Free waiting is 90 minutes from your actual landing. Tipping is never expected — never required. The only extras are options you choose yourself, such as child seats or waiting beyond the free allowance. Waiting past the free allowance is ¥6,000/hour for an Alphard and ¥8,000/hour for a HiAce, in 15-minute blocks — and your driver does not leave when it runs out: if he has another transfer after yours, we reassign it so he can keep waiting. The only exception: if we get no reply from you on any channel the day before and on the day itself, the driver may leave once the free 90 minutes from your actual landing are up.
