New Chitose Airport (CTS, ICAO RJCC) is Hokkaido's main gateway, located between Chitose and Tomakomai about 55 km by road south-east of Sapporo. It has two terminal buildings — domestic and international — joined by a connecting corridor, and the JR Rapid Airport train links it to Sapporo. The JR Rapid Airport train and the buses to Sapporo, Niseko and the resorts stop for the night, and in winter the resort buses are reservation-only and sell out.
