China Mainland to Japan: Real Airport Transfer Patterns from 421 China Eastern / Air China / China Southern Pickups (上海 PVG / 北京 PEK / 廣州 CAN by Flight 2026)
Every China Mainland flight to Japan lands somewhere different
China Eastern, Air China and China Southern together run more than 100 weekly services from Mainland China into Japan. The useful question is not which airline, but which airport your particular flight actually reaches, because the ground plan and the price both change with it. Across the 14 Mainland flights we can verify from our own booking records, covering 421 pickups, nine arrive at Haneda and five at Narita. That runs against the common assumption that Chinese carriers are a Narita story.
The difference is worth real money and real time. Haneda sits about 40 minutes from central Tokyo and Narita about 75. RydAgent's fixed price is ¥16,000 for an Alphard from Haneda to a Tokyo hotel and ¥24,000 from Narita. So CA181, which we have met 49 times, is a materially easier arrival than the schedule-board comparison suggests, while MU271 landing at Narita at 20:55 is a late night in a way that its Shanghai departure time does not advertise.
Everything below is drawn from flights we have actually met, with the landing times we see most often. Timetables shift by season, so treat every time here as the common schedule and confirm it against your own ticket. Where a flight is not in our records it is not in this guide, which is why the list is shorter than an airline timetable and more reliable than one.
If you are on MU523 (PVG → NRT, arriving 12:50), our most-met China Eastern service into Narita
MU523 accounts for 48 pickups in our records, and its 12:50 Narita landing is the sweet spot of the day. The pattern most repeat travellers underestimate is the Narita clearance cluster: between roughly 12:30 and 14:00 the arrivals hall absorbs the midday wave from Shanghai, Beijing, Taipei, Hong Kong, Bangkok and Singapore all at once. Clearance in that window typically runs 35 to 50 minutes, and longer during 春節 (late January or early February) and 國慶 (1 to 7 October).
Clear by about 13:45 and RydAgent's fixed price is ¥24,000 for an Alphard from Narita to a central Tokyo hotel, 70 to 90 minutes depending on traffic. The driver holds a name board in Latin script and 簡體中文 at the arrivals gate, and the ride goes straight to your hotel's main entrance with no Narita Express change at Tokyo Station. For the four-person Shanghai family that MU523 carries a lot of, ¥6,000 each is roughly level with N'EX at ¥3,140 plus a taxi from Tokyo Station once you count the luggage. For 5 to 9 people, a HiAce at ¥30,000 is the single-vehicle answer at ¥3,750 to ¥6,000 a head.
Shanghai families heading for Park Hyatt Tokyo, Mandarin Oriental Tokyo, Aman Tokyo or The Peninsula Tokyo on this flight should read the luxury hotel section below. Each of those properties has a guest entrance that is not the one a navigation app picks by default.
The Haneda half of the China Eastern schedule: MU537, MU8633, MU539, MU575
Four of the eight China Eastern services in our records arrive at Haneda, and together they are 124 of our 246 China Eastern pickups. If your ticket says HND, your ground cost drops by ¥8,000 and your drive shortens by roughly half an hour.
- MU537, SHA → HND, arriving 13:30, 34 pickups. Note the departure airport: this one leaves from Shanghai Hongqiao, not Pudong, which catches out travellers who booked a Pudong hotel the night before. A 13:30 Haneda landing puts you at a central Tokyo hotel around 15:00, straight into standard check-in. RydAgent's fixed price is ¥16,000 Alphard or ¥20,000 HiAce.
- MU8633, PVG → HND, arriving 15:50, 22 pickups. Mid-afternoon landing, hotel by about 17:00, comfortable for a 19:00 dinner in Ginza or Roppongi even allowing for the evening traffic on the Wangan route.
- MU539, PVG → HND, arriving 18:06, 45 pickups. Our second most-met China Eastern flight. An 18:06 landing lands you squarely in the evening peak, so plan on a hotel arrival around 19:30 and skip any 19:00 reservation. The fixed price does not change for rush hour.
- MU575, PVG → HND, arriving 21:20, 23 pickups. A genuinely late arrival. By the time you clear and reach a Tokyo hotel it is usually around 22:30. There is no night surcharge on the fixed price, and this is the arrival where a pre-booked car earns its keep, because the Keikyu and monorail last services thin out and a taxi rank at 22:00 is a queue.
China Eastern's other Narita services: MU727, MU521, MU271
- MU727, PVG → NRT, arriving 12:00, 25 pickups. The earliest of the Narita group and the one that beats the worst of the clearance cluster. Central Tokyo by about 14:00.
- MU521, PVG → NRT, arriving 15:55, 24 pickups. Mid-afternoon landing, hotel by about 17:30. Fine for dinner, too late for a first museum.
- MU271, PVG → NRT, arriving 20:55, 25 pickups. The latest Narita arrival we regularly meet. Expect to reach a central Tokyo hotel around 22:30. Narita's rail options are effectively over for late clearances, so this is a pre-booked-car arrival rather than a work-it-out-on-landing one.
On every one of these, the driver tracks the flight, and waiting is free for 90 minutes from actual touchdown rather than from your scheduled time. That is the number that matters on a late landing, because the delay you are worried about is exactly the one that would otherwise start a meter.
If you are on CA181 (PEK → HND, arriving 12:25), Air China's Beijing flagship
CA181 is the Mainland flight we have met most often at 49 pickups, and it arrives at Haneda. Plenty of guides file it under Narita; our own records say otherwise. A 12:25 landing plus clearance puts you at a Marunouchi, Otemachi, Ginza or Roppongi hotel by about 13:30 to 14:00, which is early enough for a 14:00 meeting if you go straight there and comfortable for anything from 15:00 onwards. RydAgent's fixed price is ¥16,000 for an Alphard and ¥20,000 for a HiAce.
Air China's other services in our records:
- CA133, PEK → HND, arriving 14:30, 31 pickups. The second Beijing to Haneda rotation of the day, hotel by about 16:00.
- CA183, PEK → HND, arriving 21:30, 22 pickups. Late evening arrival, hotel by about 22:40, no night surcharge.
- CA929, PVG → NRT, arriving 14:00, 21 pickups. Air China from Shanghai rather than Beijing, and the one Air China service in our records that uses Narita. Hotel by about 16:00, and the fixed price is the Narita one at ¥24,000.
For Beijing families rather than business travellers the vehicle logic is the same: an Alphard for four, a HiAce for five to nine. Where grandparents are travelling without English, the booking page and the chat with your driver or our team both work in Chinese, so nobody is guessing in the arrivals hall.
If you are on CZ385 (CAN → HND, arriving 14:20) or CZ647 (PKX → HND, arriving 14:00)
Both China Southern services in our records land at Haneda within 20 minutes of each other, and both are worth a correction. CZ385 is the Guangzhou Baiyun service, 25 pickups, not the Sydney flight the same number carries on other China Southern route maps. CZ647 departs Beijing Daxing (PKX), 27 pickups, not Shenzhen and not Capital, so if you are connecting domestically in Beijing you need the right airport of the two.
A landing just after 14:00 at Haneda is one of the friendlier arrivals in this whole guide: clearance is past the midday crush, the drive into town is about 40 minutes, and you are at the hotel by 15:30 for standard check-in with the evening intact. RydAgent's fixed price is ¥16,000 for an Alphard and ¥20,000 for a HiAce from Haneda, or ¥16,000 and ¥20,000 respectively straight to Tokyo Disney, which is closer to Haneda than the hotel districts are.
Pearl River Delta arrivals skew more towards family trips than midweek business, and a fair share go straight to Disney or to Urayasu hotels. On Chinese households: Mainland bookings default to 普通話 dispatcher coordination. If an elderly Guangzhou family member would rather be spoken to in Chinese, say so at booking and we will arrange it.
If you are travelling during 春節 (Lunar New Year) or 國慶 (October Golden Week)
春節 and 國慶 are the two largest Mainland outbound peaks, and Tokyo, Osaka and Kyoto sit near the top of the destination list for both. 春節 tends to produce concentrated five to seven day trips; 國慶 produces seven to ten day trips, both with a high share of multi-generational bookings.
The point that matters on the ground: the fixed price does not surge during peak windows. Tokyo metered taxis apply late-night and peak-period uplifts and frequently decline the long Narita run; limousine buses sell out; the popular Narita Express departures sell out. RydAgent's fixed price is ¥24,000 from Narita to Tokyo in 春節 exactly as it is in the shoulder season, and ¥16,000 from Haneda, confirmed at the time you book.
For three-generation bookings in peak windows, book four to six weeks ahead. Capacity tightens first on the busiest landing slots, and the HiAce that keeps eight people and eight cases in one vehicle is the thing that goes first. Booking a day or two out during 春節 risks having only an Alphard available when a HiAce is what the group actually needs.
If you are a Shanghai family bound for Tokyo Disney
Shanghai to Tokyo Disney is one of the most recurring Mainland patterns in our data: a couple with two children flying China Eastern, then straight to the resort for a three to five day Disney and Tokyo combination. Most of these families have already done Shanghai Disney more than once and are treating Tokyo as the comparison park, which is exactly why arrival-day timing is worth planning rather than improvising.
The transfer maths, and note that the airport your flight uses decides it:
- Narita to Tokyo Disney Resort: HiAce ¥28,000 or Alphard ¥24,000, about 60 minutes. This is the route for MU523 (NRT 12:50), MU727 (NRT 12:00) and MU521 (NRT 15:55).
- Haneda to Tokyo Disney Resort: HiAce ¥20,000 or Alphard ¥16,000, about 30 minutes. This is the route for MU537 (HND 13:30), MU8633 (HND 15:50) and MU539 (HND 18:06), and it is both cheaper and quicker.
- Group of 5 to 9: take the HiAce. UberXL's own site lists up to 6 seats and Tokyo's nine-seat jumbo taxis have to be reserved in advance, so a party of this size otherwise splits across two cars, which on a Disney arrival means two luggage loads and two arrival times.
Disney hotels enforce a 15:00 standard check-in. On MU537 landing at Haneda at 13:30 you are at the hotel around 15:00 and into the park by late afternoon. On MU523 landing at Narita at 12:50 you are there around 15:30, which still works. On MU539 at 18:06 the park day is over before you arrive, so treat it as a travel evening. Child seats are ¥2,000 each, requested at booking and fitted before the vehicle leaves.
The 普通話 (Mandarin Chinese) dispatcher coordination
For Mainland travellers, and particularly for families travelling with elderly parents or for 春節 and 國慶 multi-generational trips, dispatcher coordination in 普通話 over WhatsApp is a real service difference. Most Tokyo transfer companies run English-only or Japanese-only customer service, and the gap for a family whose grandparents speak neither is exactly where arrival-day problems happen.
How it works: at booking you message the dispatcher in 簡體中文 over WhatsApp, and the dispatcher confirms the date, time, arrivals gate and the wording on the name board in the same language; your booking page shows the driver's name and plate once assigned. On the day, the driver holds a board with your family name in Latin script and 簡體中文. If the flight is delayed, if the pickup time needs to move, or if someone needs help with a wheelchair or oversized luggage, the family messages the dispatcher directly in 中文 rather than routing everything through whichever adult child speaks the most English.
On language: most of our driver network speaks Chinese, so most trips can be handled in Chinese directly — note "Chinese-speaking driver" at booking and we arrange one free, telling you in advance if we can't on a given trip. For anything else in the car the dispatcher relays messages over WhatsApp, typically inside a minute. Where 中文 continuity matters across a whole trip rather than just the airport run, flag it at booking and the same dispatcher covers every leg. We work in English, Japanese and Chinese, and we will say honestly which of those any given driver actually speaks rather than implying they all speak everything.
支付 / Payment: Alipay accepted, WeChat Pay on roadmap, no surge pricing
For Mainland travellers the payment method matters operationally, since international card acceptance from within China can be inconsistent. RydAgent.com checkout currently accepts:
- Alipay via Stripe, confirmed working for Mainland Alipay accounts including balance, China-linked credit cards and UnionPay debit linked to Alipay. No VPN or Hong Kong workaround is needed for the payment step itself.
- International credit cards via Stripe: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, JCB.
- UnionPay, via Stripe's UnionPay routing, tested with China-issued cards.
- WeChat Pay, on the integration roadmap for 2026 H2. Check the current status at booking.
For 發票 (fapiao) needs on business expenses we issue receipts in English by default; for a 中文 invoice the dispatcher can arrange manual generation after the trip, so ask at booking. Pricing stays fixed in JPY regardless of payment method: RydAgent's fixed price is ¥24,000 Narita to Tokyo, ¥16,000 Haneda to Tokyo and ¥30,000 Kansai Airport to Kyoto, all Alphard. There is no FX markup beyond Stripe's own rate, no payment-method surcharge and no surge during 春節 or 國慶. You can also reserve now and pay later, and if your airline cancels the flight you choose between a free rebooking and a full refund, which applies inside 24 hours too.

Times are the landing times in Japan we see most often and move with the seasonal timetable, so check your own ticket. Prices are per vehicle, not per person, and include expressway tolls, parking and fuel. Tokyo Disney is priced separately at ¥24,000 Alphard or ¥28,000 HiAce from Narita and ¥16,000 or ¥20,000 from Haneda.
Private car against Narita Express, the limousine bus or the monorail: per person, public transport wins for one or two travellers with light bags. It reverses for a family of three or more, for a Disney arrival, for the late landings on MU271, MU575 and CA183, and for any group of five to nine, where there is no single-vehicle public alternative at all. For a four-person family the private car sits at ¥4,000 to ¥6,000 a head depending on the airport, which is close enough to the train plus a taxi that the deciding factor is usually the luggage rather than the fare.
Why RydAgent for China Mainland to Japan transfers
RydAgent.com is operated by PLENS Inc. in Tokyo, with 36,000+ Narita and Haneda transfers handled since early 2024 through our partner network. Across Mainland carriers we can verify 421 pickups on 14 flights: China Eastern 246, Air China 123, China Southern 52. Every flight and time in this guide comes from that record rather than from a timetable scrape, which is also why flights we have never met are absent.
There are two vehicles and no others: the Alphard for up to 4 passengers with 4 large bags, and the HiAce for up to 9 with 9. The price is fixed when you book and includes expressway tolls, parking and fuel, with no late-night premium and no peak-season uplift. Every airport pickup includes a name board at the arrivals gate, flight tracking so the driver is already there if you land early, and 90 minutes of free waiting from your actual touchdown. Departure and point-to-point rides include 30 minutes of free waiting instead, without a name board; we usually message you as soon as your driver arrives, and you can message them from your booking page. If anything goes wrong, a real person on our team steps in quickly. Airport pickups can be booked online until 20:00 Japan time the day before the ride, with no rush fee; addresses more than 50 km from our bases also need 24 hours. Child seats are ¥2,000 each, requested at booking and fitted before the vehicle leaves. You can reserve now and pay later, and if the airline cancels your flight you choose between a free rebooking and a full refund, inside 24 hours as well. 普通話 dispatcher coordination over WhatsApp and Alipay at checkout are both live. We are a GetYourGuide Approved Supplier and also listed on Viator, Trip.com and KKday, so you can book direct or through whichever brand you already trust.
